CAI is eliminated despite the war that put its goalkeeperMarch 15, 2019
Sporting KC of the United States defeated CAI 3-0 on Thursday, advancing to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Two goals by Krisztián Németh and one by Roger Espinoza, all in the second half, ended the effort of goalkeeper José Guerra, who was established as the figure of the match by his countless saves that had zero the score until 74 minutes.
The CAI goalkeeper had stopped everything that the US team was throwing at him, making all the effort of Sporting KC, which was more team than the Panamanian, inert. Only in the initial minutes the Chorrerano team came out with a lot of energy, but then it was the local club that became the owner of the ball, but could not materialize their arrivals for the feline performance he had in the Panamanian goalkeeper.
In the 74th minute, in a corner kick came the first goal, Botond Barath the head down and Németh almost in the nose of Guerra shot him with a powerful shot, in the only formula with which he could beat the intrepid goalkeeper Panamanian.
Sporting KC did not give the CAI advantage for the reaction and scored two more goals at 81 with Roger Espinoza and at 86 with Németh, both before Gerso Fernandes overflows on the left.
CAI participated for the first time in the CONCACAF Champions League in which they eliminated Toronto in the last 16 and defeated Sporting KC in the first leg of the quarterfinals by 2-1, in La Chorrera.
The American team had to fight to overcome the resistance of goalkeeper Guerra, of which they remain as memories, their incredible saves.
